I pay for premium and i'm having all kinds of issues with album art. Whenever I add new albums without embedded album art, it just shows Alanis Morissette's album cover art for the album instead. I have the app set to download artwork automatically but it doesn't seem to do anything. If the artwork is not embedded, you're out of luck apparently. What is the point? Please fix this. I don't want to have to keep taking albums out and locating artwork for very common things only to have to re-add and re-upload, what a pain! Thank you so much, program is great otherwise but this is driving me mad. I had high hopes. I wanted to upload my large library from my Ventura iMac and then play it between all of my Apple devices. It seemed simple and worth the money just for that feature. After getting the app and subscribing I found that when I open the app the Vox Cloud gets stuck on "loading library" It never does anything else. I can't upload anything. Some music files apparently somehow did get loaded at first before it locked up, but after weeks of trying again and again nothing else gets loaded.

Nothing that got loaded at first shows up on my iMac's App. It just sits there trying to load the cloud until I force quit. I have deleted the app and reinstalled it multiple times but it still does the same thing which is basically nothing. To be fair, the app seems to load okay on my iPad and iPhone, but I have to upload the library from my computer so it's still useless for me. I had signed up for a year because it was discounted but didn't sort the reviews by most recent. If I had done that I would have realized that there are hardly any positive reviews over the recent past. I'll give up for now and leave my account open since I have almost a year left.

Maybe they'll do a version update that fixes this mess. The developer, Coppertino Inc. The following data may be collected and linked to your identity:. Size Trying to get the app to run on my Mac was infuriating until I found the solution. I totally recommend. I don't even mind the free version at all, all the necessary features are in that imo. i literally never write reviews for apps and this is my first one, which is a testament to how muh i like it.

The one thing keeping this from a 5 star review for me, however, is the fact that it scrambles my playlists or "collections" as theyre referred to here without my input and not on shuffle or anything. like, i had my itunes playlist, but when i tried to find a song when i looked in it, my songs were all over the place in the playlist. the same thing happened when i made a new collection in vox. if that gets fixed, this is easily a 5 star and will probably fully replace the stock music player for me. Before downloading, and please if you are considering a subscription, read the responses by these developers.

How much are you charging per year? These guys are relentless. Constant emails trying to sell you their premium package. Several every single day! FYI, you get NO features unless you go premium - none, not even a little taste of how their app is supposed to make your music experience better, instead they just tell you via annoying emails. How are we supposed to know how good your product is? Not sure what good this app is unless you give them cash. A little advice - if you want to sell your tasty snack to new customers you need to give out a free sample. These guys are super greedy and will do anything to get your cash. Including giving you nothing until you subscribe. Deleting the app now. I advise you do the same if you have already made the foolish decision to download it as I did. See you in the funny papers Vox. Update in response to developer reply : Too late.

our price model is not perfect Hi there! Thanks for your review. The point is that we do NOT want to make separate purchases for each additional service we provide. Our team appreciates the critic and all feedbacks coming from our customers, as we are in love with our product and willing to continue development as we have some really optimistic plans for the future. Vox formerly known as ToolPlayer is a simple media player that will play your music without all the fuss of importing into iTunes , database lookups, album art displays, playlist editors, etc. Vox has been around in various guises for some time now but it's only recently that its been integrated into the Mac App store. With this comes a slicker interface and a few more useful features without bloating it. Initially there were problems with frequent crashes in Mountain Lion but the latest update has fixed that. It's very basic and fast but at the same time, it offers useful features such as indexing and sorting of playlists. To play a music file - and Vox supports a huge array of formats including FLAC, AAC, MP3, OGG and ALAC - simply browse to it using Vox and off you go. The nice thing about the app is that, if you're trying to listen to a whole album, Vox will automatically detect that the song you are loading is the first track of the album and load the rest of them at the same time - far more intuitive than even VLC Player for playing music.

Other than that, there isn't a great deal more to Vox, apart from the graphic equalizer that allows you to refine your output slightly. This also allows you to add a few effects such as reverb, echo and distortion that you'll probably never use anyway. There's now also Growl support for Vox and an added bonus is you can scrobble music to your Last. fm account if you've got one. The lack of a decent playlist editor may frustrate you but for what it's designed as - a lightweight media player, Vox is very good. A must have for all Mac users.. I love Vox. Much better than all the other alternatives for Mac.
